My husband Mike and I are the owners and staff of Timberline Farm. We have been around horses most of our lives and between the two of us have over 70 years of experience with all different types of horses and people in many different equine disciplines. Mike is a retired Police Officer from Austin, Texas, and spent 10 years of his career training and overseeing the Police Horses that work in downtown Austin. I spent some time with the Police Department as well but in 1995, when we married, I was able to stay home. Since then it's been nothing but horses!
Ever since I was a young girl, I was drawn to the treatment of injuries in animals - from the ear infection of my mother's poodle (which netted my first job offer at the age of 12) to working as a surgical technician for a nationally known Equine Referral Hospital. I can pin point the day I became interested in doing rehab work with horses. While employed by a prominent business man with halter horses, I had been working with a lovely filly (and had fallen in love with her) for about a year when the filly was sent to the trainer to be shown. The filly was doing well when she suddenly reappeared back at the ranch. She was suffering from a severe attack of Exertional Rhabdomyolysis and had seemingly lost 200 lbs over night and could not move. Following her veterinarian's instructions, I started teaching the filly how to move again. After a few months of twice daily sessions, the filly was able to return to her former job and excelled. Following this incident, I have had many more opportunities to put horses back together again, which prompted me to seek further knowledge at Elgin Veterinary Hospital - Large Animal Division. It has been a journey that has brought me back home to do what I love - nursing horses back to health.
We began taking horses in for rehab approximately 3 years ago. Each one has been returned to its owner ready to go back to work and we have done so without fail. We make every effort to ensure all our horses are happy with the accommodations we provide. Our place is small and quiet, located near the end of a 1 ½ mile cul-de-sac in the country, situated on a little over 18 rolling acres with tree lined fence lines for privacy. We've been here for 14 years and have raised our combined family of 4 girls and 2 boys.
We look forward to speaking with you and devising a plan to get your Equine back on his/her feet.

We do ride and train here for Dressage, but it is only with our personal horses.
